What did you learn from the social engagement project?
Hello,
In the brevity of 3 days, I learnt many things
while at the same time being touched and inspired by my teammates’ unwavering
commitment. Although they were tired and hungry, they still carried out their
responsibilities with vigour and enthusiasm. It was a display of hidden talents
as I observed in wonder, how they could so easily communicate and interact with
the students of SMK Seri Pantai through the usage of jokes, mini-games and a
natural air of approachability and friendliness. They were indispensable in
making Wondermaths an unforgettable experience for the students. Truly, I could
not have asked for a better team. I hope the students have benefitted from
participating in Wondermaths as much as we have benefitted in executing it.
But the most important lesson is best represented
by the saying to never judge a book by its cover. Be patient with your team and
treat each member with respect while acknowledging their uniqueness; you never
know when they will surprise you.
